Story of new tamil movie Saguni
Saguni as expected is a comedy movie with political touch in the storyline. Thefilm begins with the death of Chief Minister. thedeath is mastermind by prakashraj. It is a full entertainment movie which gives your money worth with full of laughter and fun. Karthi as Kamala kannan comes to chennai to meet politcal leaders to safeguard his ancestral home which is in danger of being taken by railway project. In Chennai he stays in his Aunt's house. Here love blossoms between Karhti and his aunt's girl Parinitha. His aunt did not like this and the love breaks up. He comes in contact with Santhanam and both become friends. Santhanam as Rajini Appadurai comes to know of the past of Karthi. Here the story goes to a flashback where Karthi narrates his past to Santhanam. the flash back also includes the hilarious tricks done by Karthi to woo his moraponnu Sridevi.
In the second half the story gains momentum with Karthi comes to know that prakshaj is of no use to help him out of his problem. He decides to take the matter in his own hands. He as a kingmaker makes Ramani Aachi (Radhika) to become the councilor and later as a mayor. He also uses his tricks to revive the VTMK party and makes sure that the grass root level people are benefited.
He also exposes the corruption done by the Chief Minister (Prakash raj) and becomes the kingmaker in political arena. Lastly he is called for duty at the national level to weave his magic wand.
Karthi as the lead actor does a commendable job both in the comedy as well as in the serious scenes. His chemistry with Santhanam works out beautifully and both makes sure that the comedy track doesn’t loose the steam. Karthi has improved his dancing skills which can be seen in the songs 'Kandha Kara Vada' and 'Pottadhu Pathala'.
Santhanam is also an equal lead actor in this film. His one liner comedy is terrific and draws huge applause from the audience. The scene with Nasser and Karthi was very hilarious and makes the comedy track even more commendable.
Pranitha does not have a major role in this film. In the first half she comes as the Morapoonu to Karthi and later appears in two songs in the second half of the movie. Not much scope for the heroine as the film is largely taken over by Karthi and Santhanam.
Good to see Nasser back in this film. His gels very well with Karthi and Santhanam in the comedy scenes.
Prakashraj comes as the corrupt chief minister. as usual he does his job very well as the villian.
Radhika comes in a small role and does her part very well.
G V Prakash scores the music for this film. The songs looks descent and he does a good job in the background music for this film.
Shankar Dayal is the director of this movie. It is his debut film and it is ok. He used Karthi and Santhanam very well in this movie.

Saguni is a wholesome entertainment movie which can be described as a comedy film which will be well appreciated by the audience. The film makes you laugh and you will enjoy the Kathi - Santhanam comedy scenes in this movie. I would rate Saguni 3 out of 5.
