Tamilnadu Government has taken the initiative to build a multi-level car parking at T.Nagar. This would ensure proper parking of vehicles at one of the busiest place in chennai. Tamilnadu government has approved
the proposal submitted by Chennai Corporation to construct multi level car parking and two wheeler parking in T.Nagar. Rs 25 crores has been proposed for the completion of the project. Tamilnadu government has sanctioned Rs 5 crores from the Tamilnadu Infrastructure Development Fund for this project.
The parking space will come up at Bashyam Road. It is estimated that the parking slots can cover up-to 200
cars for full capacity. The entry and exit points are still being discussed to ease the traffic around G.N Chetty Road, Doraisamy Road and Venkatnarayana Road. It will take around 2 years to complete the construction of Multi-level car parking at T.Nagar.
It is also proposed to construct a G + 2 floor on NSC Bose Road for two wheeler parking. The cost estimated for constructing the two wheeler parking is 4 crores.
