Two Hour Power cuts back in Chennai from December 2

Power-cut is back to haunt Chennai people from December. As per the TNEB directive there will be a two hour power-cut daily starting from December 2nd 2013. It is not notified how long this will continue. This will bring some relief to other parts of tamilnadu. They are experiencing 6 to 7 hours power-cut everyday which may reduce to 4 hours if this is implemented in Chennai.

As per the report Tamilnadu is facing 1500 MW to 1800 MW current deficit. The situation became worse as Vallur power plant unit 1and North Chennai Thermal Power Station Stage 2 Unit 1 had been stopped due to repair work. Both the plants had assumed power production recently and it take a while for them to run to their full capacity. North Chennai Thermal Power Station Stage 2 Unit 2 repair work is already taken care by BHEL and it is hopped that it can resume power production from January 2014.
