Indian Railways had provided a new facility for all its passengers. You can get the current status of a particular train in your mobile phones. This would be really helpful for those who are frequent travellers through trains. They can get to know the status of a particular train whether the train is running on time or it is running late. This will help them to start according from their home to catch the train. You can get the details in your mobile phones through an SMS. You don’t need a phone with a GPRS connection or you need an internet connection in your mobile. A simple SMS is what you need to do to get the required details. This facility has been developed by Indian Railways in association with IIT Kanpur to help the Indian public.
Getting current train status is very simple.
Type the train number and send it as an SMS to 09415139139 or 09664139139.
You will get the latest status on real-time basis. At present the facility is available for only 36 premier trains which includes Rajdhani, Shatabdi and Duronto. In the next 18 months the facility will be extended to all the trains. Rs 121 crore had been allotted by the Railways for this project.
Hope this facility is implemented to all the trains as early as possible.
