Indian Railways had announced the change in Tatkal Reservation booking timings. The Tatkal reservation will start from 10 AM instead of the prevailing 8 AM booking. This will come to effect from July 10, 2012. Railways had made this change in-order to prevent touts to do bulk booking.
Railways is getting many complaints from passengers that they were not able to book Tatkal tickets. Usually tatkal is booked on the previous day of the journey from train originating station. Railways is also planning to install CCTV cameras at the reservation counters to monitor any irregularities. They are also planning to open a separate counter for Tatkal booking to streamline booking queues.
